To Cheer You

Good Morning everyone.  Today is Day 6 of the JustRite Stampers release.  Today's release is called "Hugs To You".  This is a ribbed oval set with some gorgeous decorative borders and great sentiments.  Just as the name suggests - this set is perfect for those "comfort" cards that we all make.

For my card, I chose paper from the DCWV Mariposa Stack and positioned my sentiment off to the side so that the bird and butterfly appears to be "cheering you" up.  I stamped the border with Memento Potters Clay and matted onto Spellbinders Classic Scallop Oval and Labels 9.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves.

Here is a look at the complete "Hugs To You" set:

Be sure to check out the JustRite blog for the other designers that have some great cards using this new set.

Tomorrow is the last day of this JustRite release.  Be sure to come back and check it out!!

Faithful Friend

Good morning.  Welcome to day 5 of the JustRite Stampers release.  Today's release is called "Song In My Heart".  This set comes as a large oval ribbed set.  The centers in this set are interchangeable with some of the other JustRite sets such as "Fancy Labels" which is what I used for my card today.
My sentiment is from the "Song In My Heart" set dual stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Lilac Posies.  The frame is from the "Fancy Labels" set, stamped with Memento Lilac Posies and handcut.  The "Fancy Labels" set coordinates perfectly with Spellbinders Labels 18 and Labels 13 - I just don't own this set yet so I had to handcut it.

The stamped images in the upper corners were stamped using JustRite "Elegant Frames" and cut to fit the corner.  To finish my card, I added punched borders using the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch and a matching bow.

Here is a look at the complete sets that I used to create my card:

Wine Label

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to Day 4 of the JustRite Stampers release.  Today's release is called "Elegant Frames" and comes in cling.  I am really loving cling!!  It stamps so nice.

As soon as I saw these frames I immediately thought of a wine bottle label.  I'm not exactly sure why because I am not a wine drinker.  It just seemed to be the perfect size and the sentiment was perfect too.  Now to let you in on a little secret - just because I thought of a wine bottle label does not mean that I went out and bought a bottle of wine just to make my project.  This particular wine bottle happens to be one that my husband and I got on our honeymoon in Aruba - 13+ years ago!!  Needless to say it was a bit dusty.
I stamped the large frame using Memento Potter's Clay and diecut it with the JustRite Custom Nested Frames dies - perfect fit!  Then I added 2 more mats - one in a copper color and one in a gold color.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, diecut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals and matted onto a copper mat diecut with Spellbinders Petite Scallop Ovals.

Here is a closer look at the label:
For the top of the wine bottle I wanted to make it look like a gold ribbon so I diecut copper and gold paper using Spellbinders Classic Inverted Scallop Circles.  Then I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black and diecut with JustRite Custom Nested Sentiment Dies.

Be sure to check out some of the other JustRite Design Team Members for more great ideas using this new cling set.

Thank You - You're The Best

Good morning.  Welcome to Day 3 of the JustRite Stampers release.  Today JustRite is introducing "Heart To Heart".  This set is a large oval ribbed set with some beautiful border designs and great sentiments.  And don't forget, many of the JustRite stamps are interchangeable which makes your stamps go further.  For my projects I used 2 different sets - Heart To Heart and Friendship Nested Sentiments - they work perfectly together.
I decided to make a tall narrow card for today.  I usually don't make the tall cards but I had this idea for this stamp set in my head so I just went with it!  I like the final results.

I stamped the border 3 times onto light pink cardstock with Memento Rose Bud and diecut using Spellbinders Labels 11.  The sentiment "Thank You" is from the Heart To Heart set, stamped twice with Memento Cottage Ivy and diecut with Spellbinders Long Rectangles.  The sentiment "You're The Best" is from the Friendship Nested Sentiments, stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy and diecut with Spellbinders Long Scallop Rectangles.

Here is a look at the complete sets that I used to create my card

Anniversary Candle

Good morning.  Welcome to day 2 of JustRite Stampers Release.  Today's stamp set is called "Vintage Oval Labels".  This stamp set comes in cling which I am really liking.  It stamps really nice!  This cling set is GORGEOUS!!  I'm not much of a "vintage" type of girl but I really like this set.

I was lucky enough to find some pillar candles at The Christmas Tree Shop on clearance for .50 just after Christmas.  I bought several to have on hand.  This is what my candle looked like when I bought it.

And this is what it looks like now:

I decided to make an Anniversary Candle.  This was one of those ideas that hit me right in the middle of the night - woke me up out of a sound sleep!!  I forced myself to go back to sleep but started on it as soon as I woke up.  I love decorating candles - I've done many as gifts for family and friends.  I think it just adds so much character and personality to a plain ole candle.

I used the 2 largest pieces in this set - the bottom layer is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and diecut with Spellbinders Labels 13 and the top layer is stamped with Memento Desert Sand and diecut with Spellbinders Labels 6.  This set was designed to go perfectly with these Spellbinders dies - can't get much better than that!!  The sentiment is from the "Happy Everything Mini Tag Set", stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and diecut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals and matted onto Petite Scallop Ovals (another perfect match!)

The lace that I used was white so I airbrushed it with Copic markers so that it would match my Vintage look.  I also airbrushed the flowers as well as the ribbon (they were all white).

Here is a look at the complete "Vintage Oval Labels" cling set

My Rainbow

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to release week at JustRite Stampers.  From today until March 1 JustRite will be showing sneak peaks of their March stamp release.  You are going to be blown away at these new sets.  I will be having projects everyday showcasing them.

Today's release sneak peak is called "My Rainbow".  This set is ribbed and fits on the large oval stamper.  It has some really nice sentiments perfect for different occasions as well as scrapbook pages.
For my sentiment I decided to create a "rainbow" of colors by using different ink colors on different words.  Once stamped I diecut it with Spellbinders Beaded Ovals and inked the edges with Memento Tangelo.  The mats were diecut with Spellbinders Classic Scallop Ovals.  The grass was created using Martha Stewart Icicles border punch, the white border created using Martha Stewart Garden Trellis border punch.  I also cut out extra clouds and popped them up on the card.

Here is a look at the entire "My Rainbow" set.

Be sure to check out these other blogs for more projects using this new release set:

If you haven't been to the JustRite site for a while, you are going to be surprised.  Not only do they have great stamp sets for sale, they now have Memento Markers - These markers come in a dual tip - brush and bullet.  Perfect for doing multi-color stamping.  JustRite also has their own Custom Spellbinders Nested Dies along with some other Spellbinders Dies.  It is truly a one-stop shopping experience!

Thinking Of You

Good morning everyone.  Today is Friday which means another great challenge over at JustRite Inspiration.  Today's challenge is to use the two-tone effect one stamping direct to rubber.  This means to use 2 different ink colors directly onto your stamp and then apply to paper.  I have done this on a few of my cards in the past by using my Memento Dew Drop ink pads but now it is even easier than ever to do.  JustRite is now selling Memento markers on their site!!!  How great is that.  JustRite is really becoming your one-stop shopping site - great stamps, full size Memento ink pads, Memento markers, Copic Markers, Spellbinders dies, and JustRite Custom Nested Dies.

or my card today I still had to use my Memento Dew Drop ink pads because I haven't gotten any of the Memento markers yet.  I chose a sentiment from the "Mother Nature's Gifts" set stamped with Memento Danube Blue as well as Memento Tuxedo Black.  The great part about this type of stamping is that you can choose specific words/sections that you want to "POP" off your card.  As you can see I highlighted the words "Spring", "Love", and "Joy".  Once my sentiment was stamped I diecut it with Spellbinders Labels 13.  I also used the Labels 13 to diecut a piece of Murdock Country Creations Deep Sea polished stone paper turned in the opposite direction to mat my sentiment onto.

The white lattice border beneath my sentiment was created with the Martha Stewart Garden Trellis border punch.  The large white card base was embossed with the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and then I applied Memento Summer Sky ink with a sponge dauber (also sold over at JustRite) over the raised sections.  It really makes the design stand out really well.

Be sure to check out the JustRite blog as well as Michele Kovack's blog for more projects using this technique.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  I hope you have a great weekend.

Mother's Day Card

Good morning everyone.  I know that Mother's Day is not until May but I have a card done anyway.  I started out by creating my background paper using a stamp from the Rubber Stamp Tapestry Corner & Heart Doily set.  I've never tried creating my own background paper but I think this came out really nice.
The background is stamped with Memento Sweet Plum and Memento Lulu Lavender.  Once I stamped the background I needed to decide on a stamp for my focal point.  I wanted to use some different stamps that I had not used yet.  Is there anyone else that buys stamps because they are cute and then never use them??  I am going to try and change that.  This stamp is from the Martha Stewart Cake Stamp set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and diecut with Spellbinders Labels 9.  The sentiment is from the JustRite Stampers Happy Everything Mini Tag Set.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a wonderful day!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!  I hope that everyone has a special someone to celebrate with today.  I made my card today for my husband.  It is really difficult for me to create "men" cards - I like to make frilly girly cards but I think this one came out really nice.  I'm sure my hubby will like it.  I'm going to put it next to his coffee maker so that he will see it first thing in the morning as he is making his coffee.  I am very fortunate to have such a great supportive husband.  "I love you Mike".

I decided to use the sketch that was over at Splitcoast Stampers last Wednesday.  It is a fairly simple sketch, perfect for a "man card". My card also fits into the challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges site - to use hearts on your card.

I diecut the hearts using Spellbinders Classic Hearts as well as the Classic Scallop Hearts.  The white heart was then embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

My sentiment is from the "Happy Everything Mini Tag Kit".  This kit comes with 18 mini sentiments (perfect for every occasion), the dies to cut them out with, and the clear stamper.  It is truly a complete kit and is priced very reasonably.  My sentiment is diecut with the JustRite Custom Nested Frame Dies.  The white portion was diecut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags.
The bottom portion of the card has a layer embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The heart border was created with the Martha Stewart Lace Hearts border punch.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  I hope everyone has a day filled with "LOVE"!!

Thank You Quilt

Good morning everyone.  Today I decided to create a card following  the great quilt tutorial shown over at Splitcoaststampers.  This was a lot of fun to do.  I have tried the traditional quilting once.  Needless to say I never finished the quilt.  I am an instant gratification kinda girl and quilting does not fit that definition.  I love the look of quilts and appreciate the time and patience that it takes to create - it just is not my thing.  I'll stick to creating "paper quilts".

Since this is a "quilt" I decided to dust off my sewing machine and stitch each quilt square.  For my sentiment, I chose a center from the JustRite "You're So Sweet" set, stamped with Memento London Fog, diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles, and matted onto Spellbinders Eyelet Squares.

This was really a lot of fun making.  I'm sure that I will be making more in the future.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!

Get Well Soon

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at CPS.  It is a fairly simple sketch that could be used for any type of card.  I chose to make a Get Well card that would be suitable for either a man or a woman.

I really liked this Stampscapes stamp as soon as I saw it.  I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa and added a Fiskars Rope Border below.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Squares and Classic Scallop Squares.

Sorry about the short post today.  Today is one of those days that I have so much to do and not enough hours to get it done!

Superbowl Champions - Green Bay Packers!!!!!

Good morning everyone.  Are there any football fans out there?  Did you watch the awesome Superbowl game?  I sure did.  I usually watch it all by myself - my husband goes to a Superbowl party with all of his buddies every year.  They have been doing it since high school.  No wives or girlfriends invited!  That's okay with me - I like to have the house all to myself - nice and quiet (until Green Bay makes a touchdown or intercepts Pittsburgh!)  I'm not exactly a Green Bay Packers fan but I DO NOT LIKE PITTSBURGH so I was pulling for Green Bay.

For my card today I found a new challenge site called Ann's Creative Nook.  The challenge was to create a card using either Green and Yellow (Green Bay Packers colors) or Black and Yellow (Pittsburgh Steelers colors).  I created my football quarterback by using my Cricut Expression along with the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge at size 4.  The background white layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate folder.

JustRite Sketch Challenge _048

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at JustRite Inspiration

Here is a look at this great sketch:
And here is my take on this sketch:

I chose the "Baroque Nested Frames" stamp set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Cottage Ivy, and diecut with the JustRite Custom Nested Frame Dies - a perfect match!!  No more trying to "eyeball" the cuts.  The corner embellishment is included in the JustRite Custom Nested Sentiment Dies.

The background paper is embossed using the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder and then I sanded the raised portion to give the multi colored look.

Snow Tubing

Good morning everyone.  I found another really cool challenge site called Die Cuttin' Diva's.  This challenge blog requires use of one of my favorite "toys" - my Cricut Expression.  The challenge that I am doing today was to create a fun winter card.  Since here in Maine we just got over 12" of snow I thought this was a very fitting card to try.

I used the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge at size 4.  I used a face stamp from Peachy Keen to make her smiling face.  The embossed snowflake background was created using the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder, then I brushed over the raised sections with chalk.  The sentiment is from the JustRite Stampers Christmas Joy set with a mat diecut with Spellbinders Deckled Edge Ovals.

Be sure to check out this challenge site.  I know that I will be checking in and playing on a regular basis!

Thanks

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a simple card to share.  I used the new cling set by JustRite called "Kindness", stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy (large frame) and Memento Bamboo Leaves (smaller frame).  I handcut the frames but these are compatible with the new Spellbinders Labels 20.  The sentiment is also from the Kindness set.

The green card layer was embossed using Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing folder and then applied Memento Bamboo Leaves ink over the raised sections.  I also made the pretty flower in the center by following a video that I found here on You Tube.  Now I won't need to spend the money to buy my paper flowers.  I'm just going to use the different sizes of Spellbinders scallop circles and make lots of different sizes.  How cool is that!!

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping in for a visit.  I hope you have a great day.
