Okay, now on to more important stuff.  I was really happy to read all of your comments and get a feel of what you have enjoyed over the past year.  I like to keep connected with my readers so that I can keep creating things that you like to see.

Friends

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing with the "Applique" stamp set by JustRite Stampers.  This set is so versatile because it is different each time you color it depending on the colors you choose.  I chose pale blues and pale greens for my card.  The image is stamped 3 times, colored with Copics and mounted onto pale green mats.

My sentiment comes from the "Cherish The Memories" set and diecut using the Spellbinders Fancy Tags die.  The border above was created with the Martha Stewart Quilted Border Punch.  I added Kaiser rhinestones along the border as well as below my sentiment.  Because I didn't have the right color rhinestones, I colored them with my Copic markers.

I am still attending CHA in Chicago this week.  It is a lot of work but so worth it.  I love meeting bloggers that I have only had the opportunity to chat with online.  It is nice to put a face to a voice.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!!

Best Wishes

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a quick card to share with you.  I am currently attending CHA in Chicago so I pre-posted some cards for this week.

For my sentiment I chose a designer center and border from the newly released set called "Victorian Nested Frames" by JustRite Stampers.  I also used the new clear horizontal stamper which makes it very easy to see where you are placing your stamped image.
The images are stamped onto ivory and pale blue cardstock using Memento Danube Blue and handcut to size.  The designer paper is by Melissa Frances called "Lily".

I added a cute little bow and some Kaiser pearls to finish off my card.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping in for a visit.  If you happen to be at CHA this week, be sure to stop over at the JustRite Booth and say hi.

My Special Announcement Is Finally here........

Happy Sunday everyone!!!  I know you have all been wondering what my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT is going to be - You have all had sleepless nights just thinking about it (I really doubt that!!)

Well here it is...................................................

Today marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of when I started my blog!!!!  I can't believe it has been a full year.  Time goes by so fast.  Having this blog has been so much fun for me and I hope all of you have enjoyed the projects that I have created over the past year.

Below is a photo of some blog candy that I have to give away in honor of my one-year anniversary.  In order to win the blog candy I would like all of you to browse through my blog and let me know the one project that has really "Wow"ed you.   It could be a project from 6 months ago or even a more recent project.  I really like getting feedback from readers so that I know that you are out there.

I am flying out this morning (6:30 a.m. flight) to Chicago to attend CHA.  I will be working the JustRite booth.  I am super excited because I will be getting to see all of the new stuff coming out this Fall.  I am going to keep the blog candy going until I get back on Thursday night.  I will choose the winner on Saturday July 31 via Random.Org.

I look forward to hearing all of your comments and finding out what you have really liked over this past year.  I also look forward to many more years of blogging with you.

Have a wonderful week!!!!!

JRC_028 - A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

Good morning everyone!  It is finally FRIDAY!!!  Before I get to my card for today I have a few announcements to make.

First, be sure to stop by my blog on Sunday July 25 for a special announcement.  I don't want to spoil the surprise but you won't want to miss it.

Second, also on Sunday I will be flying to Chicago to attend CHA.  I am super excited.  I will be working at the JustRite booth so if you happen to be attending, be sure to stop in and say hi.  I will be pre-posting some projects that will be showing here on my blog while I am at CHA so be sure to check it out.

Now on to my card for today.  I am playing along with this week's JustRite Friday challenge which is called "A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words".  The challenge is to use a photograph on your card.

For my photo I chose this one taken earlier this Spring of my husband Mike (far right), his brother Ralph (far left) and their dad.  If you are a regular reader of my blog you already know that I married into a "golfing" family.  My husband also has a sister who golfs.  Every year they all get together and play golf at least once.  They really enjoy it.  I'm thinking that I may use this card for Father's Day next year.  It is a really nice photo of the 3 Barkhouse men.

To create the card, I chose the sentiment "A Perfect Day" from the newly released JustRite set called "Cherish The Memories".  This stamp set has some great sentiments perfect for that special card or even great for scrapbook pages.  I thought this sentiment was the perfect saying for this photo.  To create the verse along the bottom of my card "Golfing With Dad", I used the Times Roman Uppercase and Lowercase
font sets.  My "golf balls" were created with Spellbinders Nestabilities and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Be sure to check back on Sunday for another announcement!!

Christmas In July Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!!!  Welcome to my portion of the JustRite Stampers "Christmas In July" blog hop.   I hope you have enjoyed all of the amazing projects that you have seen from the design team so far.  It is such an honor to be part of such an amazing team!!

My project for the hop today consists of a Christmas card ensemble with a box.  I found the instructions for this box set on Splitcoast here.  It was very easy to do and would make a great gift idea.  It could be made with Birthday cards, general occasion cards, etc.

I decided to go with non-traditional Christmas colors.  I think the pink and black are really nice together.  The paper comes from the DCWV Christmas Stack.

Below is a photo of the box top.  I chose a designer center and border from the "Hearts Come Home" stamp set which is now shipping at JustRite.  These 2" square borders & centers are perfect for Christmas cards as well as scrapbook pages.

Below is a look at the complete "From Our House" stamp set.  This is the set that I used to make my Christmas cards.

Here is a look at the complete "Hearts Come Home" stamp set that I used for the top of the box.

This is what the cards look like together.  They match pretty well.  I think that I will probably make more to fill up my box, but I just didn't have time to do that yet.

Below are photos of the individual cards as well as a closeup of the stamped image.

JustRite Challenge _027 Christmas In July

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the Friday challenge over at JustRite Inspiration.  The challenge is called "Christmas In July" so I have a cute little Christmas card to share.  It is never too early to start making Christmas cards!!

My card today uses some of the newly released Christmas stamps from JustRite. These new sets are awesome for making Christmas cards, even for a new "colorer" like myself.

The wreath comes from the "From Our House" set.  It is stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy, diecut with Spellbinders Classic Squares and colored with Copic Markers.

Below is a look at the complete "From Our House" stamp set.

For my sentiment, I chose a border and center from the "Hearts Come Home" stamp set.  The center is stamped with Memento Lady Bug and the border is stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy, diecut with Spellbinders Classic Squares, and colored with Copic Markers.

Apron Book

Good morning everyone.  It is Monday again!!  I have had such a busy last few weeks!!  My oldest daughter has moved back home which means I had to relocate my entire design studio (I was "sharing" her bedroom).  It is amazing how much stuff is needed to be creative!!!!

Also, I am still working on loading amazing projects into the JustRite gallery which is why my posting has been so few and far between.  However, the gallery is looking AMAZING.  You have to be sure to check it out on a regular basis.  I am loading projects on a daily basis and the end is not near!!

I do have a chance to post a project that I made a few weeks ago but hadn't had time to write up a post.  I love making these cute little apron books.  This one has recipe cards inserted on each page.  It could be given as a gift or used as a Christmas Cookie Swap.  The apron pages were cut using the Accu Cut machine along with the apron die.  All of the stamped images are from JustRite Stampers.

This photo shows the front cover.  The stamped image comes from the "Homemade Treats" set and is diecut with Spellbinders Labels 3.

This is a look at one of the pages.  All recipe cards have a stamped image from the "Recipe" stamp set and were cut using SU circle punches.

The left side page has a stamped image from the "Homemade Treats" stamp set.  The right side page has a stamped image from the "What's Cookin" stamp set.  Both images were diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles and  Classic Scallop Circles.

The left side page has an image from the "What's Cookin" stamp set.  The right side page has an image from the "Homemade Treats" stamp set.

The images on both pages here come from the "What's Cookin" stamp set.

This page also uses images from the "What's Cookin" stamp set.
And finally, the left side page uses an image from the "What's Cookin'" stamp set and the right side page uses an image from the "Homemade Treats" stamp set.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today and sticking in there with me during my random blogging.  I really appreciate it.  I am really hoping to get back to "normal" (whatever that is) soon.  Have a great week!!

Apron Box

Good morning everyone.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  We had a bit of a family emergency so we didn't do anything special but that is okay.  There is always next year.

Since we here in Maine are in the midst of a major heat wave, I thought maybe a Christmas project would "cool" things down a bit.  I created this cute apron set with the apron box and apron brunch invitation.

The apron was diecut with a Accucut die.  To make the apron box I diecut 2 aprons and created a box to sandwich in between them.  To make the window, I used a Spellbinders Classic Oval die and then covered it with some accetate.  The sentiment comes from the "A Merry Little Christmas" set by JustRite.  It is diecut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles and the mat was diecut with scallop circle Nestabilities

The top sentiment on the apron invitation was created with a center and border from the "Big Occasions"set by JustRite.  The oval sentiment was created with the Times Roman 25 point font.  Having font to create my own sentiment is great - there is no excuse for not having the right stamp!!!

That is it today.  Sorry to keep it short but I have lots and lots of things to get done.

Have A Great Day!!!

Supplies:

Paper - Scrapworks

Ink:  Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue, Memento  Bamboo Leaves

JustRite Challenge _025

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the Friday challenge at JustRite Inspiration.  The challenge is called "Inside Out".  This means that the card needs to be completed inside and outside.  Most of us never think to decorate the inside of our cards so this is a great challenge.

On the outside of my card I chose a border & center from the "Hope" set by JustRite.  It is stamped with two ink colors (Memento Rich Cocoa & Memento Tangelo).  The flowers are colored with a Copic marker.  Next I diecut it along with the brown mat using the Spellbinders Nestablities Labels One.  I added the Fancy Tags die on each side of my stamped image.  The corner pieces are Spellbinders Eyelets Pendant.  The bottom border was created with the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch with Kaiser Pearls added.
For the inside of my card I chose a designer center from the All Occasions Nested Sentiments and Verse set and a border from the Victorian Nested Frames set.  This was also created to match the front of my card by using the Spellbinders Fancy Tags along with the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch.

Be sure to stop over and give the challenge a try.  You could be chosen as the winner of a JustRite Gift Certificate.

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend and stay safe!!

Corner bookmark

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a very simple project to show you.  It is called a "Corner Bookmark"  I found the on Splitcoaststampers and it is very easy to do.

I started with the main image that I wanted to use which is a stamp set from JustRite called "Kaleidoscope".  This stamp set is so versatile just as the name suggest because each time it is used it can be colored in different ways.  Once it was colored, I diecut it with Spellbinders Nestabilites Classic Circles with the Scallop Circles making the mats.

For the bookmark part, the yellow was embossed with Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder, the purple embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The bottom edge was created with the Martha Stewart Modern Galand border punch, colored with Copics and added Stickles to each center.

These bookmarks are fast and easy to make and will make great gifts for anyone - especially teachers.  I'm thinking that I will be making these for my daughter's teachers this fall.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Please stop back tomorrow to see what I come up with for the JustRite Friday challenge.
