Birthday Balloons

Good Morning everyone.  Today I have a great birthday card to share with you.  You can never have enough birthday cards!

I used purple Core'dinations cardstock for the top layer of my card.  This cardstock is awesome because it has a white core.  All I did was emboss the paper with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder and then sanded it.  The raised parts turn white and then gives lots of dimension to a card.

My balloons were diecut using my Quickutz Balloon die.  The I stamped my words using JustRite Stampers Curlz Font.  Just add a tail and bow and the balloons are complete.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!

Supplies:

Paper:  DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy, DCWV cardstock

Ink:  Versamagic Purple Hydrangea

Accessories:  Kaiser rhinestones, Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder, sanding block, Quickutz Balloon die

Prayers

Good morning everyone.  Sorry I was MIA yesterday.  Somedays there just doesn't seem to be enough hours to get things done!!  I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge from Splitcoast.  I am also using one of the new stamp sets from JustRite Stampers called "Kaleidoscope".  This set is really fun to color.  I love kaleidoscopes.  My mother-in-law has lots of kaleidoscopes.  My daughter loves to play with them. She will position them and then show them to me.

I colored some Kaiser pearls with Copic markers to match my card and then placed them around the center of my kaleidoscope.  I also used Copics to color my image.

This border has a very nice saying - "Prayers Go Up - Blessings Come Down".  Isn't that beautiful?

Here is a look at this entire stamp set.  Another must-have by JustRite.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping in for a visit.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a look at my project for the JustRite Friday Challenge.

My Friend

Good morning everyone.  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  My weekend was busy!  Saturday I participated in the MS Walk with my oldest daughter.  It was a beautiful day for a walk.  This walk has a special meaning for us because my mom was diagnosed with MS several years ago.  We have done the walk for the past 3 years.  We like to do our part in trying to find a cure for this horrible disease.

Yesterday I went to a my daughter's college because she was invited into the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society.  This was very exciting because in order to be part of this group a college student must be in the top 20% of the Junior, Senior class and also be invited by faculty officers.  She is doing so great in college.  We are very proud of her.

Now on to today's card.  I decided to use one of the new release sets by JustRite called "By The Sea".  Living in Maine we spend many days during the summer going to the coast.  I love going to the beach - however I am not much for swimming in the ocean - it is too cold for me.  Maine has a lot of beautiful lighthouses and some rocky coastline.  We love to walk along the rocks.
I stamped the image onto Neenah white cardstock, colored it with Copics and diecut with Spellbinders Ovals Nestabilities.  The blue mat behind the lighthouse is polished stone paper from Murdock Country Creations.  This paper comes in many different colors.  You can contact Kellie by going to her blog Polished To Perfection.

I added the rope borders on the sides of my card (made with Fiskars rope border punch) to match the rope border that I used from this stamp set.  And of course, no beach card would be complete without sea shells.

Here is a look at this really cute stamp set.  It is a must have!!!
Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - By The Sea borders and centers

Paper:  Chatterbox, Worldwin, Murdock Country Creations polished stone

Ink:  Brilliance Mediterranean Blue, Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic Markers (Y08, B21, Y06, C3, R17, YG01, E13)

Well, after struggling, your card turned out great! Love how you made your golf balls. May have to borrow that idea, as my hubby just began golfing occasionally after many, many years.

Go Bananas

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a simple cute kid's birthday card.  This adorable monkey is from the JustRite April release called "Let's Celebrate".  I knew that I wanted to have a "bright" card since it is going to be for a kid.
The cute monkey was stamped onto Neenah white cardstock, colored with copic markers and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Ovals Nestabilities.  My sentiment is also from this same stamp set, however the stamp set is a square shape.  So I just inked one of the sides of the square, stamped it and diecut it with Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

Here is a closer look at this adorable stamp set.
I am definately going to be using this stamp set for some of my scrapbook pages.  Hopefully I will get some pages done over the next few weeks.  Just never seems to be enough time in a day to get everything done.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Let's Celebrate borders and centers

Paper:  DCWV, Frances Meyer Diva Stripes

Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, Copic Markers (YG07, Y06, E11, E33, YR16, YR24, Y11, E17)

Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Ovals, Fancy Tags, Martha Stewart Loops border punch, Cuttlebug Forest Branches

JustRite Challenge - Mother's Day

Happy Friday everyone.  I have a very busy weekend coming up.  Saturday I am participating in the MS Walk with my daughter.  She lives 2 hours away so I will be driving for a big part of Saturday.  Then on Monday I have to go back to my daughter's house because she is receiving an Honor Society award at college on Monday night.  Lots and Lots of driving but both days are well worth it.

Today's card is inspired by the Friday Challenge over at JustRite Inspiration.  The challenge is to create a Mother's Day card.  It doesn't seem possible that Mother's Day is right around the corner.  Where has this year gone!!  Soon it will be summer and my youngest daughter will be complaining because she is bored.
My card uses one of the JustRite new release sets that were just shown this week.  This set is called "Applique".  It was so much fun to color.  I stamped the image 3 times, colored them all the same with Copic markers and then handcut them out.

My sentiment was created using the JustRite Curlz Font ensemble.  Each word was stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves and then diecut with Spellbinders Labels Trio.  I inked around each word with VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea.  The Kaiser pearls were also colored yellow with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great weekend!!

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Applique Borders and Centers, Curlz Font Ensemble

Paper:  DCWV

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Bamboo Leaves, Versamagic Purple Hydrangea, Copic Markers (Y06, V09, V12, YG01, V06, G12, G00)

Caardvarks Core'dinations Challenge

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the Caardvarks weekly challenge.  The challenge is to create a "New" monochromatic card.  The sponsor to this challenge is Core'dinations.  This cardstock is awesome!!  It has a color core perfect for sanding.  It also comes in some amazing colors.  The color that I chose is called "Lake".
Each panel measures 1 1/2" x 4 3/4".  Next I embossed them with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder and sanded.  Having the color core adds lots of dimension to the cardstock once it is sanded.

Isn't this duck & mouse so cute!!!  I colored them with Copic markers and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.  My sentiment is from the "Romantic Sentiments" set by JustRite.  I thought this sentiment was perfect for this card because the cute little mouse is holding on to his ducky friend.  This would be a perfect friend card or even a significant other.
The 3 flowers in the upper left corner were made using my Cricut Expression and the Walk In My Garden cartridge.  Once I put them together I thought they kind of looked like lily pads which fit perfectly into my card theme.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Don't forget that today is the last day to have a chance at my blog candy.  You can check it out here.

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Romantic Sentiments, Stampabilities House Mouse

2 Sketches 4 You sketch challenge

Good morning everyone.  I hope everyone enjoyed the JustRite April release blog hop yesterday.  The design team was outstanding as usual!  If you happened to miss it, just click here to check it out.

For my card today, I am using the sketch challenge over at 2 Sketches 4 You.  I struggled with this sketch but I think the end result came out nice.

I decided to make a golf birthday card.  I am not a golfer but I did marry into a family of golfers.  I may give this one to my sister-in-law for her birthday.  I am a bit early though - her birthday is not until September.
The golf bag is colored using Copic Markers  I created the "golf balls" by punching out small circles and embossing them with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The red daisy border was created using the Martha Stewart daisy border punch.  My sentiment was created using the JustRite Times Roman 25 point font and the vertical wood stamper.

Don't forget to check out my blog candy in this post.  You still have until Thursday to enter for a chance to win.

JustRite April Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the JustRite Release blog hop!!!  If you have been visiting the JustRite Blog over the last few days you have seen some sneak peaks at the April releases.  Well today you will be able to see what the design team has done with these awesome stamps.

The set that I chose is called "Hope".  This set is a 2" square centers & borders.  The verses are so meaningful.  We all need to have hope daily to survive this crazy world.

I stamped the sentiment & border onto Neenah white cardstock, diecut with Spellbinders Labels One, and colored with Copics.  I also edged it with Copic Markers.  The bottom layers were diecut with Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant.  I diecut it twice and twisted it to make a "star" appearance.  I added Stickles & Kaiser Pearls.  NOTE:  I didn't have the right color pearls so all I did was color the white pearls with a Copic Marker.  Now there is no excuse for not having the right color pearls!!

Here is a look at the complete set.

Cricutters Anonymous Challenge #33

APRIL SHOWERS

Good morning everyone.  Before I begin with my project today, don't forget about the blog candy that I have for this week.  You can check out the post by going here.

Today I am playing along with the Cricutters Anonymous Challenge #33 which is called "April Showers".  The challenge is to create a Spring Themed Project.  I decided to create a 3-D project to display on my countertop.

To create my project, I used Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge to create my gardener.  He is cut at size          7 1/2".  His face was stamped using Peachy Keen face stamps.  The wheelbarrow, flowerpot, flowers & watering can were all created using Walk In My Garden cartridge.  I cut 2 of the wheelbarrow sides at size 10" and then I made a box to put in the middle of them.

My Spring sentiment was created using a border & center from the "Seeds of Kindness" stamp set by JustRite Stampers.  I stamped the center onto yellow cardstock & diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.  The border was stamped onto pink cardstock and diecut with Spellbinders Blossom.
Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Be sure to stop in tomorrow.  I will be participating with the JustRite design team for a blog hop highlighting the April Release stamps.  This release is going to knock you off your feet.  Very nice stamps.

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Seeds of Kindness borders & centers, Peachy Keen face stamps

Paper:  Murdock Country Creations polished stone, DCWV cardstock

Blog Candy Alert!!!

Happy Saturday everyone.  I just noticed that my blog has almost reached 50,000 hits!!!!  WOW!!  I can't believe that there have been that many of you that keep coming back to see my projects.  I started my blog less than a year ago to have a creative escape from everyday life.  I love taking paper and creating beautiful cards & gifts for family and friends.

Reading the comments that you have left for me over the last months has really inspired me to keep coming up with more projects.

Now is my time to give back.  Starting on Monday, April 19 through April 22, I will be offering a chance to win this blog candy:
For each comment left on any post starting April 19 through April 22, you will be entered in a drawing to win this JustRite stamp set - it includes the 2" wood stamper, 15 point Times Roman font set & a bonus center.

BONUS:  Many of you may not be aware of this, but every year I participate in the Multiple Sclerosis walk that takes place nationwide to help find a cure for MS.  My reason for participating is because my mom was diagnosed with MS several years ago and is unable to walk.   I feel very fortunate that I am still able to walk and want to raise awareness of this terrible disease.  I want to do my part to try and find a cure.

For anyone who would like to sponsor me in the MS walk can do so by emailing me at agbark@roadrunner.com.  There are a few ways to sponsor me.  I have a Paypal account which will make it easier to donate.  Or you can go to my MS Website and make your donations online.  Also, anyone who does sponsor me will get a BONUS entry for the above blog candy!!

I will draw a winner on Sunday April 25 and post it on my blog Sunday afternoon.  Good luck to everyone and thanks again for making this blog a success!!

Have a great weekend!!

JustRite Challenge - Sending Hugs

Good morning.  Today I am playing along with the Friday challenge over at JustRite Inspiration.  The challenge is called "Double Vision" and is being sponsored by Spellbinders.  I also am following  Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #69 (MTSC69).

Here are the details:  Double Vision: Use at least 2 differently shaped Spellbinder’s dies and 2 different JustRite stamp sets (must show inside of card if sentiment is used on the inside).

I chose a center from the "Plant A Little Love" borders & centers set and also a border & center from the "Tiny Words" set.  I colored my floral image with Copics and diecut with Spellbinders Ovals & Scallop Ovals Nestabilities.  You may notice that my flowers were diecut in the shape of an oval.  The stamp set is actually 3 1/4" round.  Don't let the stamp shape limit your possibilities.  I needed an oval shape and wanted to use a round stamp so I made the adjustments.  Doing this will stretch the possibilities of all your stamps.

My sentiment was diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles & Scallop Circles Nestabilities.
REMINDER:  All 1 3/16" stamp sets are on sale at JustRite for the month of April.  Head on over and grab some and save some money!!!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Be sure to check out my blog tomorrow for a special announcement.  You won't want to miss it.

Happy Birthday Mom

My card today was made for my mom - her birthday was yesterday.  I couldn't post it yesterday because she reads my blog and I didn't want her to see it before I gave it to her.  My card inspiration came from the sketch challenge over at 2Sketches4You.

At first I wasn't sure about the purple and yellow together but I think the color combination is really nice together.  My moms favorite color is purple so I knew that had to be the primary color.

For my sentiment, I chose a border & center set by JustRite called "Birthday Wishes".  I stamped it with Versamark, heat embossed with Adirondack Eggplant embossing powder and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.  The dark purple mat was diecut with Spellbinders Labels One.  The light purple corner embellishments were created using Spellbinders Eyelets Pendants.

I used the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch to create the "hanger" for my sentiment.  I added a narrow purple strip as well as some Kaiser pearls - really dresses it up.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Be sure to stop in tomorrow to see what I come up with for the JustRite Friday challenge.

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Birthday Wishes Borders & Centers, 2 3/8" wood stamper

Paper:  HOTP Lavender Butterflies, Bazzill

"Just Us Girls" challenge

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge at JUGS.  The challenge is to use the sketch to create a scrapbook page.  Although I am a "scrapbooker" at heart, I have not had the time nor the inspiration to create a page for such a long time.  Thanks to JUGS I was able to create this page of our mini vacation last summer.

My designer paper is called "Upper Richardson Lake" by Murdock Country Creations.  The mat behind the designer paper is called "Fall Foliage" (Murdock Country Creations).  The mat behind my photos is called "Storm" (Murdock Country Creations).  The mat behind my title is called "Sky" (Murdock Country Creations).  For information on purchasing some of this amazing paper, just email Kellie at Polished To Perfection and she will help you out.

For my title, I did a play on words.  Our vacation was at "Moosehead" lake in Greenville, ME.  So when I was trying to decide how to make this title I thought - why not use a  "moosehead" so that the title wouldn't be so long.  I thought it was a good idea and I think it came out really cool.  I stamped the letters L A K E onto white clouds using 95 point Brayton Font (JustRite).  I chalked the edges of the clouds to give them more dimension.

For my journaling, I diecut a full size moose to write the town & date of our vacation.

Thanks to JUGS for getting me back into scrapbooking.  Hopefully I will continue because I have SOOOOO many pages left to do.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!!!

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Brayton Font Ensemble

Paper:  Murdock Country Creations

Ink:  Brilliance Mediterranean Blue

Accessories:  Cricut Expression, Animal Kingdom cartridge, Paper Pups cartridge, Fiskars Rope Border punch, Pebbles Inc chalk

Cricutters Anonymouse challenge

Good morning.  Today I am playing along with the challenge over at Cricutters Anonymous.  The challenge is to create a gift for a family member.  My project is a gift card holder for my daughter's boyfriend.  Eveyone in our family consider him "family" because he has been around a long time and has become part of our family.  He will be graduating from college in May so we have decided to give him some sort of gift card as a graduation present.  We just have not decided on which one we will get for him.

I searched Splitcoast looking for instructions for making a gift card holder and came across the instructions for a diagonal double pocket card.  This was fairly easy to make and has a perfect slot for a gift card.

My "graduate" was created with my Cricut Expression along with the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  For the diploma, I stamped the school initials using Brayton 25 point font by JustRite.  My sentiment in the lower righthand side is created using Favorite Occasions borders & centers set (JustRite).  The border was stamped using Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.  Each layer is diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities.  The sentiment "Good Job Nate" was also created with the Brayton 25 point font (JustRite).

To dressup the gold paper, I used the Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder to create stars for the "star student".

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Favorite Occasions borders & centers, Brayton Font ensemble

Paper:  DCWV

My focal point is a stamp from the "Stitched With Love" borders & centers set by JustRite Stampers.  It is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Bamboo Leaves, colored with Copic Markers, and diecut using Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.  I also used the Spellbinders Fancy Tags die for the "scroll" under my mats.

Thanks to the challenge at JustRite, I finally pulled out my sewing machine and stitched on my card.  I love the look of stitching on cards but never seem to remember to do it.  I stitched around each piece of my paper which looks like it has stitching already on it.  This paper came from the DCWV The Linen Closet stack.

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch challlenge at CPS - I struggled with this sketch but I think the end result came out pretty nice.

Friends

Good Morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at JUGS (Just Us Girls).  I really liked this sketch from the time that I saw it.

For my focal point I chose this beautiful border & center from the Friendship set by JustRite.  I had a lot of fun coloring the flowers too.  I am starting to enjoy coloring - even though I am still learning.  That sounds so funny because we all learned to color when we were kids but this kind of coloring is much more difficult.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black, heat embossed it with Ranger clear embossing powder and diecut it with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.  I applied yellow chalk around the edges of each layer.  The bottom mat was diecut with Spellbinders Labels Three.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Supplies:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers - Friendship Borders & Centers, 3 1/4" wood stamper

Paper:  Colorbok Green Paisley Toss, Linen Closet cardstock

Good morning everyone.  I found a new blog that offers card sketches.  The site is called Skipping Stones Designs.  I really liked this sketch and decided to make another Springy card.

My butterflies are stamped with Versamark, embossed with Ranger Rich Red embossing powder and diecut with SU circle punches.  The butterfly is from Autumn Leaves.  The green swirl stamp is a border from the Tiny Words Borders & Centers set by JustRite.

My sentiment was created using the Times Roman 25 Point font (JustRite) and diecut using Spellbinders Long Scallop Rectangles.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a wonderful day!!
