Altered Star

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a "non stamping" project.  I had seen a star done in a similar way like this online so I decided that I would do one.  Of course I forgot to take a "before" photo of the star.  I purchased the metal star at The Christmas Tree Shop for about $4.00.  It measures about 24" from point to point, left to right.  It was black with a Fall design on it.  All I had to do was re-paint it a solid black.

Next I just needed to chose which photos of my girls I wanted to add.  The spots that don't have a photo has polished stone paper.  Each section was adhered to the star with decoupage glue.
I decided to add this photo to show the size of the star.  I have it hung on the wall right next to my livingroom window.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Tomorrow I will have a project for the JustRite Friday challenge - to create a 3-D project with a Fall theme.

Have a great day!!

My card today uses 2 of the JustRite stamp sets.  The snowflake & border comes from the "Merry Little Christmas" set, stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Memento Cottage Ivy, diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles & Classic Scallop Circles.  I added some Eucalyptus Stickles and Christmas Red Stickles to the snowflake to make it pop.  The sentiment "Winter Wonder" comes from the "Nature Nested Sentiments" set, stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy and diecut with Spellbinders Labels Trio.

The icicles border below the red strip was created with the Martha Stewart Icicles border punch.  I added several layers of clear embossing powder to make it look like it was "melting".  The white layer above the red strip was embossed with Cuttlebug Snow Dots embossing folder.

Below are photos of the complete stamp sets used to make my card.

Trick Or Treat Box

Good morning everyone.  Today I have another cute Halloween project.  This is such a cute and easy box to create and is perfect for Halloween treats.  I found the instructions here but I changed the size to accomodate my needs.

To create the belly band I cut a strip of cardstock and then added the spider web using the Martha Stewart border punch.  I added clear embossing powder to the web to make it shiny.  The tag was diecut with the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio.  The "Trick or Treat" was made with the JustRite Curlz Font Uppercase & Lowercase 25 point.  Next I added Lime Green Stickles.

The photo above shows the box opened with the belly band next to it.  I thought the box was the perfect size for Hershey Kisses!

I also used a border & center from the "Witch Way To The Treats" set to create the circular sentiment.  Black and orange layers with popdots between each layer gives it some lift off of the box.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for Week #3 of the JustRite Christmas Blog Hops.

JRC_037 Sketch Challenge

Good morning everyone!!  It's Friday so that means another challenge at JustRite.  Today's challenge is a sketch challenge sponsored by Stampers Dream.  Below is a look at the sketch.

For my card, I chose a border and center from the "Kaleidoscope" set for my main image.   The center is stamped with Versamark, embossed with Silver embossing powder and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles.  The border is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and diecut with Spellbinders Eyelet Circles.  The decorative elements on either side of the main image was diecut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

My sentiment is from the "Birthday Centers" set, stamped and embossed the same way as the main image, and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles.  The blue strip is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder.

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #3

Good morning everyone.  It is Wednesday which means it is week #3 of the JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops!!!  There are some very talented designers for you to hop with.

Here are the specific details about the JustRite Christmas Blog Hops:

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #3! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

For my project today I decided to make a 3-D SnowWoman gift box.  I wish I could take the credit for this very cute snowman box, but I can't - I found it here while surfing blogs one day and saved it for a future use.

It was very easy to put together.  Before I assembled the boxes, I used Memento Summer Sky along with the snowflake stamp from the "Holiday Cheer" set to stamp my own snowflake paper.  I also added turquoise Stickles to the centers of the snowflakes.  Since I am not very good at drawing faces, I used a face stamp from Peachy Keen and added pink chalk for her cheeks.  I bet you can't figure out how I created the carrot for her nose ------it is the tip of a Q-tip colored with an orange Copic!!

My sentiment is from the "Christmas Nested Sentiments" set stamped with Memento Danube Blue, diecut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags, and colored around the edges with a Copic Marker.

Here is a look at both stamp sets that I used for my SnowWoman Box.

"Give Thanks" Introduction Day

Good Morning everyone.  Today is the official introduction of "Give Thanks Nested Frames" over at JustRite.  This set is perfect for Fall as well as Thanksgiving so  I decided to create some Thanksgiving Place Cards.

To create my turkey, I diecut 4 scallop circles using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scallop Circles.  For the yellow one, I scored at each scallop, accordian folded it and then rubbed Memento Rich Cocoa ink across the folds to give them some dimension.  The head is created with Spellbinders Classic Circles, the beak uses the end of the Spellbinders Double Ended Tags, and the "beard" uses Spellbinders Labels 6.

My sentiment comes from the "Give Thanks Nested Frames" set.  It is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto ivory cardstock then inked the edges with Memento Rhubarb Stalk.  The next layer is stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and edges with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The bottom layer is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.

Here is a look at the entire "Give Thanks Nested Frames" set.  Very nice!!

Some of my fellow design team members also have some great projects featuring the "Give Thanks Nested Frames" set.  Be sure to check them out.  I have included links to their blogs below:

CPS 185 Sketch

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at CPS.  I love using sketches to create my cards - it makes my job much easier - half of the thinking has already been done for you!

To create the white panels on my card, I embossed white paper using Cuttlebug Snowflakes and Swiss Dots embossing folders.  The snowflakes were created with Spellbinders Create A Flake 2.

The sentiment and border comes from the "Christmas Joy" set (JustRite), stamped with Memento Danube Blue and handcut.  I used Spellbinders Curved Rectangles to create the bottom blue layer.

Here is a look at the complete "Christmas Joy" stamp set.

Be sure to stop in tomorrow.  I will have a card using a New Release set from JustRite and don't forget about the "12 Weeks Of Christmas" at JustRite - another blog hop is scheduled for Wednesday.

JustRite Challenge - Color

Happy Friday everyone!  Today is another challenge Friday over at JustRite.  The challenge today is a color challenge using the colors below:
I am using a new stamp set called "Give Thanks Nested Frames".  I stamped the center and frames alternating  between Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Rhubarb Stalk - perfect colors for today's color challenge.  The frames were hand cut and the sentiment was cut using Spellbinders Labels 6.

Part of today's challenge was to use an embellishment that was handmade.  My cute little flower in the lower right corner was made using the Sizzix Flowers 3-D die.  It was a bit tricky to do but I think the finished flower is really cute.  I added a white pearl to the center.

Here is a closer look at the stamped image as well as the cute little flower.

And here is a view of the complete "Give Thanks Nested Frames" stamp set.

Just a reminder that I am still loading great projects into the JustRite Gallery so be sure to check it often.  The inspiration in that gallery will knock your socks off!!

JRC_035 – Create a Christmas tag using JustRite stamps.

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the Friday Challenge over at the JustRite Blog.  The challenge is to create a Christmas Tag using Spellbinders Dies.  Now the only difficult decision that I had for this project was trying to decide which Spellbinders Die I was going to use.  I decided to go with a Standard Scallop Circles along with Spellbinders Standard Circles.

My focal image is an adorable snowman from the Groovy Snowman set (JustRite). I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored him with Copic Markers and then added 2 different layers of Spellbinders Standard Circles on top of him. The holly border comes from the Something Sweet stamp set (JustRite), stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black & colored with Copic Markers.  The snowflake border comes from the Groovy Snowman stamp set, stamped with Memento Bahama Blue and diecut with Spellbinders Standard Circles.

The sentiment comes from the Christmas Nested Sentiments stamp set (JustRite), stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves and diecut with Spellbinders Tags 5.  I chalked the edges, added turquoise Stickles, and some holly leaves.

My sheer ribbon was white but with some help from my Copic Markers I was able to color it to match my tag.  Copic markers are a MUST HAVE!!

Here is a look at the complete stamp sets that I used for my project today.

Be sure to stop over at JustRite to enter the Friday Challenges.  You could win a gift certificate for some JustRite products.

The Christmas Nested Frame is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic markers (available at JustRite Stampers) and handcut.  Each layer is handcut except the bottom layer which is diecut with Spellbinders Curved Rectangles.

The top white portion is embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder and then chalked.  The snowflake in the bottom right side was created with the Spellbinders Create A Flake 2.

Happy Birthday

Good morning everyone and Happy Labor Day!!  Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge from last week on Splitcoast.  I have to admit, when I saw the sketch I was tempted to look someplace else for inspiration.  But before I did I checked out the gallery to see what everyone else had done with the sketch.  There were some really nice cards made using this sketch so I decided to give it a try.  I think it came out really nice (if I do say so myself :)

For my sentiment I chose to use the "All Occasions Nested Sentiments" set by JustRite.  This set has some really nice sentiments, perfect for cards (inside & out) as well as many scrapbook pages.  And for those of you that may not know this many of the Spellbinders Nestabilities are a PERFECT match for the JustRite Stamps.  It doesn't have to be just round or square anymore!!  For this card I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Oval to diecut my sentiment, the Scallop Petite Oval to diecut the peach mat and the Big Scallop Ovals to diecut the green mat.   Makes some really pretty matting!

For this card I also did something that I rarely do - I finished the inside of the card!!  I know that I can't be the only one that does this, right??  My inside sentiment comes from the "Cherish The Memories" stamp set and is diecut in the same manner as the front of the card.
Below is a look at the entire "Cherish The Memories" stamp set.  Many of these would be perfect for a scrapbook title.

Glitter Here, Glitter There, Glitter Everywhere!!!

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the Friday challenge over at JustRite.  As you can tell by the heading of my post it has something to do with Glitter.  We all love glitter and bling!  As I was searching for an idea for my project I spotted a plain white candle just sitting there saying "Use Me".  So that is what I did.

I applied decoupage finish onto the candle with a brush and then sprinkled purple glitter onto it.  As I was waiting for that to dry I stamped my monogram.  I used the Curlz 95 point font (JustRite) along with a   2" Decorative Round Border (JustRite).  Each were stamped with Memento Grape Jelly.  Then I diecut the monogram as well as the border with Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles.  The other 2 mats were diecut with Spellbinders Labels 9.  And to keep with the glitter theme, I also added glitter to these.

To create my candle base, I used the Spellbinders Big Scallop Circles and added MORE glitter.  I knew that I needed to add ribbon but I didn't have any color except for white.  So what should I do??  I grabbed my yellow Copic marker and colored the ribbon.

There you have it - a BLAH white candle transformed into a beautiful colorful candle.  Of course, this will just be for decoration.  I don't think the glitter would burn very well.

Head on over to the JustRite blog and give the challenge a try.  You could win a gift certificate to buy MORE of your favorite JustRite Stamps.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great weekend.

Gift Card Holder

Good morning everyone.  Today I have this really cute gift card holder that I found instructions for online.  I had to make mine a bit wider because my envelopes were a bit wider than the one in the instructions.  This was fairly easy to construct, however it took me SEVERAL hours to figure out how I wanted to decorate it.  I decided to go with more of a glamorous look so that I could give it to my sister-in-law for her birthday.

I decided to keep the front cover fairly simple.  I used JustRite Times Roman 95 point font along with a Damask border to personalize this with her monogram.  It is stamped with Memento Summer Sky and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles & Petite Scallop Circles (a "JustRite" match for a JustRite monogram).

Along the left side of the cover, I chose the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities and added Kaiser pearls.

Here is a photo showing the front cover and part of the inside of the card.

This is a photo showing the entire inside of the card.

On the left side, I used the "Baroque Nested Frames" set, stamped with Memento Summer Sky.  This set comes with 2 different nested frames along with a sentiment.  I stamped the larger frame and applied it vertically.  Then I stamped the smaller frame and applied it horizontally.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and diecut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  Along the top and bottom edge, I diecut a border using the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities and added more Kaiser pearls.

On the right side I made 3 gift card holders using my Cricut Expression along with the Wild Card Cartridge cut at size 4 1/2".  Since this is for my sister-in-law and I had 3 spaces to fill, I decided to add the letters    "S" "I" "S" onto the gift card envelopes using the new Myriad Pro 50 point font and Damask border.  Each stamped with Memento Summer Sky, diecut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Circles and Petite Scallop Circles.  I also used individual pieces of the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Border to add on each side of the letter.

Here is a closer look at the left side of the gift card holder.
