Thinking of You

Good Morning everyone. Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at CPS. You can check it out here.

As many of you may have realized by reading my blog, I really like bright cheery cards. I think this card fits right into my style. When I decided to do a "thinking of you" card, I thought that it needed to be cheery and bright to help brighten up the person that it was made for.

Here is a look at the sketch. I thought that it was going to be fairly easy when I saw it but struggled with it as I started. As I continued, my card went through many different looks. I am sure that I am not the only one who designs this way. Funny how a thought starts one way and ends up looking totally different.

My flowers are a "bonus center" that came with the 2" Wood Stamper set (JustRite) which also included the 15 point font that I used to create the "Thinking of You" center. I stamped the flowers onto white cardstock, colored with Copics and cut them out. Then I applied them to the mats using pop dots. For the orange flowers in the center circle, I stamped the same flowers/vase, colored them with Copics and then handcut just the flowers. For each of the flower centers I added orange Stickles to add some bling to my flowers.

My mats were made using Spellbinders Classic Circles and Pinking Circles. The top and bottom borders were made with the Martha Stewart double loops border punch.

Be sure to stop over at CPS and give the sketch a try. The sketch is being sponsored by JustRite so you could win a prize from JustRite. Also be sure to check out the JustRite website. For the entire month of March, all 1 5/8" stamp sets are on SALE!!!!
Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.
