Caught in the Web of Good Friends

Today's card is inspired by the sketch at CPS. I don't usually do Halloween cards but the new "Witch Way To The Treats" set from JustRite Stampers is just so adorable it makes you want to make Halloween cards.

I stamped the sentiment using Brilliance Graphite Black and then diecut using Spellbinders Pinking Circle Nestabilities. The center "Boo" is pop dotted to give some extra dimension.

My spider web was cut using my Cricut Expression along with the Paper Doll Dressup cartridge. I added a little spider that I had in my stash.

My orange piece is embossed using the Cuttlebug Spots and Dots embossing folder and then I randomly added some googly eyes.

Froggie Composition Book

Today I decided that I needed a notebook to keep next to my laptop to write stuff down as I am surfing blogs. Have you ever started on one blog and ended up somewhere else and couldn't remember how you got there?? It happens to me all of the time. My solution to this is to write down blogs as well as the project that I want to remember as I find them so that I can return at a future time.

First I cut a piece of DCWV paper from the Grade School stack and adhered it to my notebook. The paper had 2 of the frogs along the bottom so I handcut one of the frogs and added him to the top.

I am using the "From The Desk Of" stamp by JustRite Stampers. It comes in a set of 3 (From the desk of, From the kitchen of, & From the library of). I cut the border in half and added letters from the small letter set (also from JustRite Stampers) to spell out my name. I loaded the stamp with 3 different ink colors (Versamagic Tea Leaves, Aegean Blue, & Sahara Sand). This was diecut using the Spellbinders Classic Circles. The center image is from the Tiny Words set by JustRite Stampers. This was cut using a SU circle punch. The blue & green mats are diecut using Spellbinders Labels Three.

To cover up the binding, I added some matching ribbon along the edge of the notebook.

Very simple gift idea for a teacher, secretary, or just one of your blogging friends.

Black & White Wedding Card

Have you ever started out with a sketch or idea and by the time you were done, it looked NOTHING like what you started with?? That is how today's card came about. I decided that I needed some inspiration so I searched past sketch challenges on Splitcoaststampers. I found this one and liked the way it looked. The longer I played around with my card, the further away I went from the sketch. One word to describe today's card is "Layers". This card has lots and lots of layers. I love the look of black and white especially for wedding cards.

For this card I layered the black and white cardstock and then used the Textile embossing folder to emboss the final white layer. Then I added black/white polka dot ribbon along with bows made from narrow black/white ribbon.

The sentiment is from the Wedding Ensemble by JustRite Stampers. The sentiment was diecut using the Labels One from Spellbinders as was the black & white mats. Each layer of the sentiment has pop dots in between to make the sentiment "pop" off the card. To finish it off, I added black pearls from Kaiser.

A very simple, yet elegant wedding card.

Happy Snowman

Another Christmas Card!!! Someone might think that I like winter, which would be totally incorrect!! I do, however, like making winter cards. This little snowman is so cute and very easy to color. I know that these colors don't scream "winter" but I really like the combination.

The snowman image is from the new Old Fashioned Christmas Borders and Centers set by JustRite Stampers. He was stamped onto Neenah white cardstock and colored with my Copics. He was diecut using Spellbinders Pinking Circles and the mat was diecut using the Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.

To add the look of melted snow, I used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo border punch and added Glossy Accents along with glitter. Then I embossed it using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Baby Girl

Good Morning Everyone. I hope everyone is having a great week. Yesterday we went to the ocean and had a great time. The waves were amazing. We are trying to enjoy the last few days of summer before school starts next week.

Today's card is inspired by the sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers today. I really struggled with this one but I think the end result came out really nice.

My stamped sentiment is from the Baby Ensemble by JustRite Stampers. It is stamped using Brilliance Pearlescent Orchad and diecut using Spellbinders Classic Oval & Scallop Oval Nestabilities.

Naughty or Nice

Happy Monday morning to everyone. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I am counting down the days until school starts. My daughter starts on September 2. I will be doing the mommy happy dance next Wednesday.

Today my card is based on this CPS Sketch. It is so much easier to come up with card ideas by following a sketch. It saves a lot of thinking time and then all of your cards don't end up looking the same.

I actually stamped my green background paper. I wanted something unique because the green looked too plain. All I did was to take some holly peg stamps from the Rubber Stamp Tapestry "Gingerbread Wreath" set and stamped using a VersaMark Watermark pad. It was really easy to do but gave the unique look that I wanted.

My Santa was made using my Cricut Expression along with the Paper Doll Dressup cartridge. I needed to paper piece his coat and belt. I embossed his beard using the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder. I added a real pom pom to his hat to make it look real. Santa's "naughty or nice" list is cut using the Christmas Cheer cartridge. FYI - all of the names on Santa's list are "nice" so far, we will see what happens between now and Christmas.

To stamp the "Naughty or Nice - Santa Wants To Know" I used the Times Roman 15 point font from JustRite Stampers. I stamped it twice using Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Rocket Red and die cut each using Spellbinders Petite Circle Nestabilities. The green and red mat was diecut using Spellbinders Classic Scallop Circle Nestabilites.

Combination Challenges

Today I am combining 2 challenges - the first one is Taylors Sketch Challenge and the second is Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge which is to use polka dots on my project. This card is very bright and cheerful. Perfect for that active little birthday girl.

I used my polka dot paper as inspiration for my color choices. The yellow cardstock was put through my Big Shot using the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing folder.

My stamped image is from the Friendship set by JustRite Stampers. The image was stamped onto Neenah white cardstock using Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored using Copic markers. I also added yellow Stickles to the candles to give them a glowing affect. Then I diecut the image as well as the mat using the Spellbinders Labels Four Nestabilities.

The "Birthday Girl" sentiment is from the Birthday Wishes set by JustRite Stampers. It is stamped onto white cardstock using Versamagic Tea Leaves ink. This was diecut using the Spellbinders Classic Circles with a mat cut using the Petite Scallop Circle Nestabilities.

Before I adhered my images to my card, I added a strip of green polka dot ribbon as well as a bow. To add more polka dots, I punched a corner from my polka dot paper using the SU photo corner punch.
