Sunshine Umbrella

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the challenge over at JUGS (Just Us Girls).  The challenge is to create a project using a template.  Of course when I have a challenge like this, I grab a My Time Made Easy templates by Lauren Meader.  Lauren has some AMAZING templates and the best part about her templates is that they can be cut using a Cricut!!  How easy is that.

I chose one of Lauren's newer templates - an umbrella.  This could be used for so many different occasions - baby shower, bridal shower, little girls birthday party, etc.  I'm not quite sure what I will end up using mine for but I thought it came out really cute.
I cut the umbrella using my Cricut Expression.  For the outer side of the umbrella, I cut smaller wedges of paper from the DCWV Flower Shower stack.  Of course, for my umbrella I just had to add lace along the edge.  Makes a very dressy look.  Once I cut the handle, I embossed it with the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder.  I also embossed 3 of the inside panels. Then I decided to add a wooden skewer on the handle so that it wouldn't be so floppy.
Once the umbrella was assembled, I thought that the inside looked a little "blah".  I guess it would have been okay if I were going to put something inside it but I wanted to have it as just a decoration.  So what was I going to do???  I decided to use my JustRite stamps and dress it up.

The flowers are from the "Beautiful Blossoms" stamp set.  I colored them with Copics, shaded the white with chalk, and diecut them with Spellbinders Ovals Nestabilities.

For this panel, I used a center from the "Seeds Of Kindness" stamp set.

For this panel, I chose a center from the "Joyful Hearts" stamp set.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!

Angela what a lovely job with this umbrella - love the lacey edge - so frilly and feminine - reminds me of my grandma's parasol. I like that you did the inside too - when I made mine I felt the same - but you rocked it! Thanks for playing along with Just Us Girls,
