Today I am playing along with this card sketch. Since I have never really considered myself a cardmaker, using sketches is a lifesaver for me.
My card base is 5" x 7" and uses Worldwin Sage cardstock. The next layer uses Worldwin Chamois cardstock.
The top layer is Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie Ella designer paper. This paper reminds me of counted cross stitch which is how I began my long crafting history. I haven't done cross stitch for so many years. The last time I did a picture it seemed to take FOREVER. I am the type of person that likes to work on a project and have it done in 15 minutes. Cross stitch is not a 15 minute project.
Next I cut a strip of pink cardstock 1 1/2" x 6 1/2" and adhered it to the center of my card. For the round embellishment in the corner I chose the Spellbinders Blossom die set. This set makes such pretty flowers. Each yellow layer I embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. I added Kaiser rhinestones to the flower center.
For my focal point I chose the designer center from the Birthday Wishes set by JustRite Stampers. These centers work well with the borders that come in the set as well as without the borders. You would never know that this center was actually a round stamp. I diecut the stamped image as well as the two mats using the Spellbinders Labels Four (which happens to be my favorite set). I applied popdots to the back to give it some lift off of the flower.
There you have it. Another card!!!! I can't believe that I have turned into a cardmaker. Who would've thought!!!!
Thanks for stopping in today.

This is gorgeous; love all those layers! Perhaps because I'm a former cross stitcher too, it really appeals to me! LOL!
