Enjoy Your Birthday

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the sketch over at 2Sketches4You.  The sketch this week is sponsored by JustRite Stampers.  I really like to design cards based on sketches because it gives me a starting point.  This sketch appears to be very simple and basic but can be taken into several different ways.

Of course since this sketch is sponsored by JustRite why wouldn't I use my JustRite stamps.  I am loving these newest stamp set that JustRite came out with in February.  They are beautiful botantical sets just waiting to be colored.  I am fairly new to this "coloring" thing but I am having lots of fun playing.  It is really helpful having Copic markers to color with.

To begin my card, I chose a center from the Beautiful Blossoms Borders & Centers set.  I only used a center because I wanted to diecut it with the Spellbinders Labels 4 and didn't have room for a border.  I stamped the center with VersaMark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  Next I colored the flowers with my Copic markers.

As you can see by the photo below, just because this stamp set is an oval shape, doesn't mean that it needs to stay an oval shape on your cards.

I diecut the stamped image off to one side so that I would have room to stamp my sentiment.  My sentiment comes from the "Birthday Wishes" Borders & Centers set (JustRite).  Isn't it great that with these stamps you have the option to mix and match sets and make it look like a single stamp.

This is a look at the "Birthday Wishes" stamp set.

To create my card.  I used several layers of cardstock.  For the green layer, I used my Scor-Pal to create horizontal score lines.  Next I embossed the light purple layer with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. Then  I added a border made with the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch.  To finish it off, I applied Kaiser pearls along the top and bottom corners.

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit.  Have a great day.

Hi Angela!
Waving to you from over here. I love your card - that border is scrumptious and the way your flowers match the embossed paper is lovely. Thanks for playing with us

That lattice arch punch has a great stage on this delightful greeting. Color coordination is outstanding on a grey day as is this moisture laden moment (and thankful for it, too, as our area is over an inch behind last year out of eleven inches annual precipitation). Easter Blessings! Rejoicing!
