Gramp....

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to the second day of the JustRite May Release.  The stamp sets for today are Going Places Vintage Labels, Violette Vintage Labels, and the new Vintage Labels and Banners dies.

My card was made in honor of  my grandfather who passed away 6 years ago.  I was very close to him and spent much of my childhood at my grandparents home.  This would have been a perfect card for him because he loved vintage cars.  I think I may use this card as part of a scrapbook page of my grandfather.

This image is included in the "Going Places Vintage Labels" set.  I stamped the image with Memento Rich Coco, outlined with Copics and diecut using the new JustRite Vintage Labels and Banners die.  The background paper was made using the Ticking Stripe Background stamp - I stamped the background twice, cut some white and maroon mats to layer between, then lined up the stripes - it gives the card lots of dimension.

The sentiment "Miss You" is included in the "Your Special Day Medallion Labels" set and diecut using Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Classic Scallop Hearts.

Dear Husband....

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to Day One of another great JustRite release.  Today's release stamp sets are called Anchors Away, Cozy Plaid Background, Vintage Travel Background.  For my card I used 2 of these sets - Anchors Away and Cozy Plaid Background.

To create my background paper I stamped the "Cozy Plaid" background stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black and then randomly colored it using Copic Markers.  I think this plaid background might just be my new favorite background stamp!!  This background stamp is perfect for the masculine cards that we all struggle to create (or at least I do!!) but I will be showing you on a future post that plaid is NOT just for men - I will also have a Mother's Day Card using the Cozy Plaid Background stamp.

All of the sentiments are included in the "Anchors Away" clear set.  This set is PERFECT for me since my husband is an avid boater/fisherman and anything else that has to do with water!  He grew up on a large lake so he was constantly on the water.  We currently don't live near the water so he is always saying he feels like a fish out of water.  I also call his boat "His First Wife".

The image in the center is colored with Copics and diecut with JustRite Custom Nested Medallion Dies,   the sentiment in the center is diecut with JustRite Custom Oval Nested Medallion Dies , the sentiment "husband" is diecut with Spellbinders Labels Trio, and the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment is diecut with the new JustRite Vintage Label and Banner dies being introduced tomorrow (I love this new die!)

JustRite Friday Challenge #071

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the JustRite Friday Challenge #071.  This is a color challenge based upon the inspiration photo below. 

I really like these colors - a touch of Spring

The paper I chose for my card comes from the 6 x 6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline.  As I was searching for paper to match the color inspiration I spotted this and it was a perfect match!! 

The sentiments that I chose today comes from the new release from JustRite called "Spring Rose Medallions".   The frame image in the center is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copics and diecut with the JustRite Custom Nested Oval Medallion dies.  The sentiment in the center of the frame is stamped with Memento Rose Bud.  The sentiment in the lower right corner was stamped directly onto the paper using Memento Tuxedo Black.

JustRite Papercraft April Release Day 4

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to the last day of JustRite Papercraft April releases.  I hope you have been inspired by these awesome new stamps.  I know that I have!!  Today will be no different - trust me!!  Today JustRite has 2 new background stamps to showcase - "Grandma's Attic" and "Fleuriste Newsprint".

For my card I chose to use "Grandma's Attic" background stamp.  When I saw this new stamp it reminded me of an old dress pattern - the brown paper type that you cut all of the pieces out and place them onto your fabric to cut.  For this reason I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and then distressed the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The buttons and thread tops are all colored with Copics.

The sentiment that I chose comes from the "Just Keep Calm" clear set which seemed to work perfectly with "Grandma's Attic" background.  It is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and Memento Potters Clay and diecut with JustRite Custom Nested Oval Medallion dies.  To finish off my vintage card I added some buttons randomly around the card.

JustRite Papercraft April Release Day 3

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to another release day.  Have you been inspired by the JustRite design team yet?  If not wait until you see today's projects - WOW!!! 

Today's releases are some beautiful edge stamps - Classic Lace Edgers One and Classic Lace Edgers Two.  Other than being completely gorgeous stamps, they are also compatible with Spellbinders Dies - How great is that!!

My card today is a shaped card created by using the Spellbinders Grand Labels 11 to make the card base.  Next I stamped one of the Classic Lace Edges One using both Memento Bahama Blue and Tuxedo Black and diecut using Spellbinders Classic Petal Edgeabilities.  Then I added a row of pearls which I colored with a Copic Marker to have it match the colors of my card.

The beautiful image and sentiment are included in the Spring Rose Medallions cling set.  I stamped the sentiment with both ink colors to give it some extra pop.  The 3 sets of roses along the edge are also included in Spring Rose Medallions.  I colored each with Copics and handcut them.  They are placed along the edge using pop dots.

JustRite Papercraft April Release - Day 2

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to day 2 of the JustRite Papercraft April releases.  It seems like each new release that JustRite comes out with is better than the last and this month is no different.  Today the release sets are called "Vintage Rose Medallions" and "Elegant Fronds" background.

To create my card I started by stamping the "Elegant Fronds" background onto blue paper using Versamark, applying white embossing powder and heat setting it.  I think it makes the blue really pop out between the beautiful Elegant Fronds design.  I can see myself pulling this background stamp out and using it frequently!!

The bottom portion of my card uses the "Ticking Stripe" background stamp, stamping onto blue cardstock with Memento Danube Blue ink.  The sentiment comes from the "Cast All Your Cares" set, stamped and diecut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals.   The blue frame under the sentiment was diecut using Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two.  To create my butterfly, I used Spellbinders Butterflies die, diecut 2 different cardstock colors and then added popdots between each to give the butterfly some dimension.

JustRite Papercraft April Release

Good morning everyone.  Before we begin today I just wanted to mention that JustRite is having a HUGE warehouse sale.  All JustRite Original ribbed stamps are on sale!!  They are trying to make room for some amazing new sets coming out.  Time to get out your wish lists and start ordering!!  Once these sets are gone, they are gone FOREVER!!  Don't miss out on this.

The stamps being previewed today are called Lattice Background and Spring Rose Medallions.  I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with the Lattice Background stamp but once I stamped it I automatically saw "ice cream cones". 

I stamped the Lattice Background onto tan cardstock and diecut using Spellbinders Nested Ice Cream Cone dies.  The top "ice cream" portion of the the background paper is also a new JustRite Background stamp called "Chevron Stripe".  This was stamped using Memento New Sprout.  I also added glitter onto the white portion of the Chevron Stripe.  The birthday sentiment comes from the "Topsy Turvy Cakes" set diecut with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.
