Decorative Books

Good morning everyone.  Wow, it's been a while since I posted a project!!  I didn't realize that it had been 2 weeks.  I've been busy with a new job and also some behind the scenes work for JustRite Papercraft.  It's also hard to believe that Summer is almost over!!  My daughter goes back to school in about 1 1/2 weeks.

Today I have a set of "books" that I created using the plain brown paper mache books that I purchased at AC Moore.  I have always wanted to decorate these books so I had tons of fun making these.  The theme for the books is "Friends".

For each of the books I started by covering them with some gorgeous DCWV decorative paper.  It has lots of shimmer and glitz in it.

For the blue book I used a sentiment from Get Well Labels Twenty along with a frame from this set, diecut with Spellbinders Labels 20 and matted onto Grand Big Scallop Ovals.   The frame is colored using Copic Markers.  The decorative piece along the top of the book is Spellbinders Flourish Trim die.  I also added some beautiful flowers that I created using Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms.

For this book I chose a sentiment and frame from Grateful Heart Vintage Labels Two, diecut with JustRite Vintage Labels Two and matted onto Spellbinders Grand Labels 11.  I also added more beautiful Bitty Blossoms flowers.

For this book I chose a frame and sentiment from Live, Love, Laugh Vintage Labels Two, diecut with JustRite Vintage Labels Two and matted onto Spellbinders Grand Labels 11.  And more Bitty Blossoms!!

I didn't want to leave the book ends plain so I chose 3 different sentiments from Good Friends Labels Twenty Nine, stamped onto cardstock and diecut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  The scrolls along the top and bottom edges of the books are included in Large Fancy Sentiments.
I hope you enjoy looking at the books as much as I enjoyed creating them.  Now I just need to find a place to put them so that my cats don't eat them!!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  I hope you have a great day!!

My Mom

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a scrapbook page that I created with a photo of my mom and I on my wedding day.  One of my wedding colors was lavender which is why I chose to use that as my main color for this page.
I used several Spellbinder dies to create my page.  Here is the list:

Botanical Swirls & Accents - corner pieces
Flourish Trim - top & bottom edges
Grand Decorative Ovals One - photo mats
Bitty Blossoms - flowers
Foliage Two - greenery
Labels Twenty-Nine - Sentiment
Wonderful Wings - butterflies

For the title "My Mom" I used my Cricut Expression along with the George cartridge.

The sentiment (from JustRite Anchors Away) that I chose truly expresses how I feel about my mom.  She has been through so much in her life yet she inspires me every day with the courage she has to go on.
The frame is from JustRite Special Gifts Labels 29 colored with Copics.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  I hope you have an inspirational day!!

JustRite Papercraft August Release Day 6

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to the final day of the JustRite August release.  I hope you have enjoyed the releases this week.  Kellie, Amy and Becca have outdone themselves this time with these gorgeous stamps and dies.

Today's release sets are called Lace Oval Background and Lace Vintage Labels Three.

To begin my card I stamped the Lace Oval Background with Versamark Embossing ink, applied Orange Sherbet embossing powder and heat embossed it.

Next I got crazy with layers!!  I love layers on a card.  The layers go as follows starting with the bottom:  Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, Classic Ovals, Lacey Ovals, Classic Ovals and JustRite Vintage Labels Two.  The sentiment is from Lace Vintage Labels Three.

I added a beautiful yellow bow using some ribbon from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and some black bling on the corners.

Here is a look at Lace Oval Background and Lace Vintage Labels Three:

JustRite Papercraft August Release Day 5

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to day 5 of the JustRite August release.  Today there a 2 stamps being showcased - Dotted Fronds Background and Large Elegant Sentiments.

To begin, I stamped the Dotted Fronds background onto white cardstock using Versamark embossing ink.  I applied clear embossing powder and heat set it.  Next I took the Faber Castell Gelatos (Cotton Candy, Grape, & Lavender) and randomly colored my background and wiping it down with some water squirted onto my finger.  By using clear embossing powder the Gelatos adheres to everything except the embossing powser.  I am really having fun with Gelatos - the effect that it gives is so pretty and makes it look like I'm an artist **LOL**.

I also used this same technique to stamp the beautiful frame which is included in the Large Elegant Sentiments set.  The sentiment is also included in Large Elegant Sentiments.  Both the frame and sentiment are diecut with JustRite Vintage Labels Four.

To finish off my card I ties a pretty bow using seam binding that I purchased from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I also made the pin using some clear beads that I had laying around.

Here are the other JustRite designers also showing some gorgeous projects today using these stamp sets:
