Plant Smiles.....

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the C4C80 sketch challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges.  This sketch looked very interesting so I wanted to give it a try.
I am so ready for Springtime and warmer temperatures - it only reached 28 degrees here in Maine today!!  This card really warmed me up.

Here is a look at the sketch
My floral stamp is from JustRite "The Greatest Joy", colored with Copics and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  The frame is diecut with Spellbinders Labels 8.  The sentiment is from JustRite "Seeds Of Kindness", stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Memento Tuxedo Black and diecut with Spellbinders.  The larger striped mat was created with different sized strips of paper from the DCWV Cafe' Mediterranean Stack and diecut with Spellbinders Labels 8.  The next layer is embossed with Sizzix Kassie's Brocade embossing folder and inked with Memento New Sprout.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  I hope you have a great day!!

JustRite Stampers/ Stampers Dream Blog Hop

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to the JustRite Stampers /Stampers Dream Blog Hop.  Today's hop is showcasing the JustRite March Release sets which include Song in my Heart, My Rainbow, Heart to Heart, Hugs to You, Cling Sets - Charmed, Vintage Oval Labels,  Elegant Frames.  All of these sets are interchangeable so don't be afraid to mix and match your sets just as I have with my card today.

My card uses 3 different JustRite stamp sets - Thinking Of You, Vintage Oval Labels, and Hugs To You

The sentiment is from "Thinking Of You", stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and diecut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals.  The frame is from "Vintage Oval Labels", stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and diecut with Spellbinders Labels 13  which is available to purchase on the JustRite site (this set was designed to work perfectly with Labels 13).

The 3rd set that I used is "Hugs To You" but I didn't use it as a frame.  I stamped the frame onto green paper, handcut the sections out, then applied them to the top edge and bottom edge of my card.  Doesn't that make a really nice embellishment.  Below is what the actual frame looks like.

Happy Birthday Kellie!!

Good morning everyone.  Today the JustRite Stampers Design Team are celebrating the birthday of our dear friend Kellie with a cyber birthday hop.  Isn't the internet just amazing - we can have a virtual birthday party right from our own homes!  Be sure to stop over at Kellie's blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!!
For my card I chose a center and border from the "Birthday Celebrations" set.  The borders in this set are nice and wide making a nice presence on a card.   The border is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Copics and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles.  The center is stamped with Memento Bahama Blue and diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles.

The layer directly under the JustRite border was diecut with Spellbinders Lacey Circles, next is Spellbinders Classic Circle and the final layer is Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant diecut twice and stacked onto each other.  The blue cardstock triangles were embossed with Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder and then sanded to bring out the white core - really makes the embossing stand out.

Here is a look at the entire "Birthday Celebrations" 3 1/4" round set
Your next stop on this Birthday Blog hop is Barb Schram - but if you would like to check out the entire blog hop here is the list:

Butterfly Blog Linky Party

Good morning everyone.  I am so excited because Spring is coming to blogland today via BUTTERFLIES!!  That's right I was invited to be a part of Eva Dobilas' Butterfly Blog Party today.  Since most of us have been dealing with so much winter weather (snow, rain, cold, etc), Eva thought that it would be a good idea to warm things up with butterflies.  We all know that butterflies means that Spring is coming along with warm weather so I jumped at the chance to play along.
I love the look of panel cards so that is were I began my card.  The side panels are embossed using the Sizzix Best Friends embossing folder.  The center panel is embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  My butterflies were made with the Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch with some Kaiser rhinestones added for the bodies.  My sentiment is from the JustRite Elegant Frames - cling set, diecut with Spellbinders Labels 11.

If you are ready for Spring and warm weather, be sure to stop over at Eva's blog and check out all of the Butterfly cards "fluttering" through blogland today.  Anyone can join in so give it a try.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!!

Just For You

Good morning everyone.  Today I am playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 107.  As soon as I saw this sketch I knew that I wanted to give it a try.  I love all of the shapes and elements in the sketch.
For my sentiment I chose a center and border from the JustRite "Fancy Labels" cling set, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The green layer was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The border on the right side was made with the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch.

Here is a look at the sketch
Why don't you give it a try.  Sketches are so much fun to follow!!

Happy Birthday Gift Box

Good morning everyone.  Today is Friday which means another great challenge over at JustRite Inspiration.  The challenge today is being sponsored by Scor-Pal.  I've mentioned before just how much I love my Scor-Pal and the extremes that I went through to get one.  You can read about it here.

The challenge is to create a project with a Spring or Birthday theme. To make a Spring or Birthday card AND your own envelope (tutorials can be found at the Scor-Pal site) OR Spring/Birthday gift with fun packaging (somehow using scoring).  I decided to create a birthday gift box.  I used the tutorial that I found on the Scor-Pal site and made a few adjustments.

I started with a box base using Raspberry Stripes polished stone paper from Murdock Country Creations.  I added the gold embellishments on the bottom corners using the Spellbinders Lattice Pendant die.  For the cover I used a solid pink cardstock and added a dark pink stripe embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I also added a gold scallop border around the bottom edge of the cover.

I learned how to make the bow on the top quite a while ago.  I can't remember where I found the instructions for it though.  It is pretty easy to do.  All you need are 12 - 1 1/2"  squares folded to look like a cone.  I adhered them onto a 2" circle just so that I had something to attach to - making it easier to form.  Then I just applied Martha Stewart Antique Gold glitter into the openings - if you had double sided paper that would work too.
For the center, I chose a sentiment from the JustRite Birthday Sentiments set, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and diecut with Spellbinders.  The stamped border is from the JustRite You're So Sweet set, stamped with Memento Rosebud.  The mats were diecut with Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Classic Scallop Circles.  To finish it off, I added tiny rosettes.
Here is a look at the 2 stamp sets that I used to create my birthday box:

Charmed Gift Bag - Blog Hop

Good morning everyone.  Welcome to the last day of the JustRite Release.  Today's release is called "Charmed".  It is a set of 15 Cling stamps perfect for adding tags to your project.  What is better than ready made tags - dies to cut them!!  That's right - JustRite has custom Charm Dies that will diecut these "charms" perfectly!!  Can't get much better than that.  Another awesome feature of these "Charmed" tag frames is that all of your JustRite 1 5/8" round stamps will fit inside the frames and can be diecut with the Charm dies!!  JustRite really knows what we want - awesome images and ease in diecutting them.
With the non-stop snow fall that we are getting here in Maine I decided to make a beach gift bag to get my mind on warmer weather!!
This is what the bag looked like before I started:
It was cute by itself but it can always become cuter!!  I added borders around the top and bottom by using the Fiskars Rope Border.  Then I chose a "Charmed" cling stamp, stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa.  I stamped the center sentiment separately with Memento Danube Blue.  Both of these were easily diecut with the JustRite Custom Charm Dies.  I also chose a center & border from the "By The Sea" set, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Desert Sand, colored with Copics and diecut with Spellbinders.

Here is a look at the complete sets that I used to create this cute little bag:
